In Catechism Fridays Mini-Episode 65 of The Catholic Mama podcast, we dive into sacramentals.
Rosaries, medals, holy water, scapulars, blessings…all of these things fall under the category of sacramentals – sacred signs that direct us to the sacraments of the Catholic Church. How can we use sacramentals to improve our faith life? Which sacramental stands above the rest?

My Favorite Sacramentals and Where to Get Them
I wake up eaaaaaaaaaaaarly each morning (4:30!) to have quiet time and do my prayers. I grab my favorite coffee mug and set out my rosary, scapular, crucifix with Miraculous Medal, Sacred Heart badge, and my holy water bottle from Reliquary Supply, light a candle, and get started. Creating this ritual, filled with sacramentals, brings a sense of holiness to my prayer time that would be harder to achieve without the use of them.
Here are my favorite sacramentals and where you can get them:
- Scapular
- Rosary
- Holy Water Bottle (see below!)
- Sacred Heart Badge
- Crucifix necklace
- Stand crucifix
Reliquary Supply was kind enough to send me one of their newly redesigned amber glass holy water bottles, and I LOVE IT. It just feels special.

The glass is beautiful and substantial (it doesn’t feel like it’s going to break). I loved filling up this bottle with holy water, rather than one of those cheap plastic ones.
