I’ll be honest, prior to my own miscarriage and feelings of barrenness last year, I didn’t give much thought to fertility. I have been blessed with a family already, knew what is moral and what isn’t when it comes to reproduction, and that was that.
Experiencing a miscarriage opened up another side to fertility that I hadn’t personally experienced. It made me feel so deeply the messages I have received over the years as if they were just sent in that moment. I’ve had a few conversations over the years on The Catholic Mama podcast about fertility (Jeannie Ewing speaks and writes beautifully on this and many other topics), but I haven’t discussed fertility options in particular.
So Marie Hanson, of Walking with the Hansons, came on the podcast to chat in depth about natural fertility options, as well as the various reproductive technologies and which ones are morally licit for Catholics and which aren’t.
