A look at Mary Lenaburg’s life on paper and it can seem incredibly challenging – a daughter who became severely disabled as an infant, a struggling marriage, an unhealthy self image… and yet in speaking with Mary, there is deep abiding joy, peace, and, despite all odds, humor.
On this episode of The Catholic Mama podcast, I had a chance to chat with Mary about her 2019 book Be Brave in the Scared: How I Learned to Trust God during the Most Difficult Days of My Life, as well as some of the lessons she learned in the decades caring for her daughter Courtney and her unique needs, saving her marriage, and being a mother to her son. Most especially, that each of us is a beloved child of God.
